Softball Recap: Lakeside Vikings vs. Dunwoody Wildcats

Lakeside hadn't done well against Dunwoody recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Lakeside Vikings came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dunwoody Wildcats , sneaking past 4-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in August.

Molly McHoul spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Ellie Lenz was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3.

Lakeside didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with six strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dunwoody only tossed two.

Lakeside will face off against Woodward Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeside is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road dating back to last season. As for Dunwoody, they will play host again on Monday to welcome Norcross, where first pitch is scheduled at 5:00 p.m. Dunwoody is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
