Preview: Saks Wildcats vs. Jacksonville Golden Eagles
The Saks Wildcats will be home for the holidays to greet the Jacksonville Golden Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Saks has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Jacksonville will arrive with three straight victories.
Two weeks ago, Saks came up short against Alexandria and fell 49-39.
Jacksonville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Cleburne County with a sharp 71-47 victory on Tuesday.
Jacksonville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexis Phillips, who scored 15 points along with five assists. Neveah Nicholson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five steals.
Saks now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Jacksonville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
