Baseball Recap: Challis Takes a Loss

Challis was the 9-6 winner over North Fremont when they last played one another on April 4th, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Vikings have suffered since April 24, 2025.

Roy Jones was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Challis and nudges their season record down to 7-12. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 11-6 Firth (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 58.8% over those games). As for North Fremont, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Coming up, Challis will challenge West Jefferson at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.25 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for North Fremont, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-6 defeat against Firth on the 25th.
