Eight must be McPherson's lucky number: they beat El Dorado with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Bullpups beat the Wildcats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-2. Considering the Bullpups have won 15 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for McPherson and bumps their season record up to 18-2. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 6 runs. As for El Dorado, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

McPherson has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 loss against Rock Creek on the 25th. As for El Dorado, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-3 victory against Iola on the 25th.
