Baseball Recap: Immanuel Christian Takes a Loss

Immanuel Christian came into this matchup off a tough 12-run defeat last Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Front Royal HomeSchool Flames by a score of 7-5 on Friday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caleb Fiala and Aidan Baxter were huge no matter where they played even without the win. On the mound, Fiala didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Baxter pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Fiala scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Baxter scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jonathan Salter was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Klapmust, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Immanuel Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Front Royal HomeSchool, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Immanuel Christian will venture away from home to challenge Trinity Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Front Royal HomeSchool, they will square off against Fredericksburg V at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
