Softball Recap: Granite Hills Comes Up Short

After flying high against Barstow on Thursday, Granite Hills came back down to earth. The Cougars lost 11-4 to the Silverado Hawks on Monday. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hawks earlier this season, when they won 12-7.

Isabel Brandon made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alina Salgado, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Granite Hills' loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Silverado, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8.

While Granite Hills had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
