Football Recap: North White Comes Up Short

North White scored first but ultimately less than South Newton in their game on Saturday. They fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 16-14. Despite 64 more yards than the Rebels, the Vikings couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Although North White took the loss, they still got scores from Eli Sandberg and Carter Applegate.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 2.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Kyzen DeBoard for the heroic effort on defense: he. North White's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.2.

A big part of South Newton's win came down to the chemistry between Lyle Harrington and his top target RJ Buckley. Harrington threw for 119 yards and two TDs on only 11 passes while Buckley rushed for 57 yards.

This is the second loss in a row for North White and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for South Newton, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-4.
