Basketball Game Preview: Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies vs. Costa Mesa Mustangs

The Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies will head out on the road to face off against the Costa Mesa Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Costa Mesa took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Godinez Fundamental, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Godinez Fundamental turned things around against Katella on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 59-41 victory over the Knights.

Meanwhile, Costa Mesa unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 67-42 to Tustin. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 540th, while the Tillers are ranked 220th).

Costa Mesa's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-14. As for Godinez Fundamental, their win bumped their record up to 8-15.

Godinez Fundamental came up short against Costa Mesa in their previous meeting on January 3rd, falling 63-59. Can Godinez Fundamental avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
