Volleyball Recap: Fruitport's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

After flying high against Kelloggsville last Thursday, Fruitport came back down to earth. The Trojans fell 2-0 to the Zeeland East Chix on Wednesday. The Trojans' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-15.

Ellie Stroup paced Fruitport's offense, picking up five kills. Stroup got some help from Emma Fecher and her five assists. Regan Wilson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Fruitport's defeat dropped their record down to 19-8-1. As for Zeeland East, their victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-3.

Fruitport has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against West Catholic on the 8th. As for Zeeland East, after both having extra time off, they and Hamilton will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
