Basketball Recap: Monrovia Find Success

Monrovia proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 54) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 52-51 win over the South Putnam Eagles. The victory was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on three straight.

Monrovia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden Najera, who posted 15 points and five rebounds. The matchup was Najera's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Hudson Pridemore, who earned eight points.

Monrovia's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for South Putnam, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6.

Monrovia has already played their next game (against Edgewood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for South Putnam, they have also already played their next contest, a 64-56 win against Mooresville Christian on the 31st.
