Baseball Game Preview: Hokes Bluff Eagles vs. Southside Panthers

For the second straight game, Hokes Bluff will face off against Southside. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hokes Bluff has three straight wins, Southside has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Hokes Bluff took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Southside, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Panthers 5-4. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Panthers on their field since March 14, 2020.

Hokes Bluff's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-12. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Southside, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-10.
