Baseball Recap: Turner Golden Bears vs. Piper Pirates
Turner had lost eight straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 4-18 to make it nine. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Piper Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-6 on Tuesday.
As for Piper, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.
