Basketball Game Preview: Rosehill Christian Eagles vs. First Baptist Christian Warriors

Rosehill Christian is on a five-game streak of home losses, First Baptist Christian an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Rosehill Christian Eagles will host the First Baptist Christian Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Both are at an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2018, but likely not for long.

Last Tuesday, Rosehill Christian came up short against St. Thomas Episcopal and fell 59-46. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 13 points.

Despite their defeat, Rosehill Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Carter Johnson, who posted 13 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was David Gomez, who put up 14 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 58 points the game before, First Baptist Christian was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 79-27 loss at the hands of St. Francis Episcopal. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-17.

Rosehill Christian's loss dropped their record down to 13-16. As for First Baptist Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Rosehill Christian was able to grind out a solid win over First Baptist Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 40-29. Will Rosehill Christian repeat their success, or does First Baptist Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
