Basketball Game Preview: Davison Cardinals vs. Lapeer Lightning

The Davison Cardinals will be playing at home against the Lapeer Lightning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Davison is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against East Lansing on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Davison was beaten by East Lansing 84-52. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-20.

Meanwhile, Lapeer suffered their biggest defeat since February 23, 2024 on Monday. They were outmatched by Lake Orion and fell 63-35. The Lightning have struggled against the Dragons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Davison has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Lapeer, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
