Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clark). They blew past the Cheyenne Desert Shields, posting a 90-60 win. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Desert Shields are ranked 79th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clark's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Michael Gebremeskel led the charge by dropping a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 boards gave Gebremeskel a new career-high. CJ Edwards was another key player, putting up 32 points and five assists.

Clark smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

Cheyenne lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Igniz Segovia-Gonzalez, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Castile, who went 5 for 11 en route to 14 points.

Clark has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Cheyenne, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Clark didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-32 victory against Amplus Academy on the 16th. Cheyenne has also already played their next matchup, a 72-44 defeat against Somerset Academy Losee on the 16th.
