Softball Game Preview: Granger Lancers vs. Cyprus Pirates

Granger hasn't had much luck against Cyprus recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Granger Lancers are taking a road trip to take on the Cyprus Pirates at 3:30 p.m. Granger has given up an average of 12.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Granger is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game last Wednesday. They came up short against Timpanogos, falling 20-1.

Granger saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniella Armstrong, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Cyprus faced Syracuse in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Cyprus fell just short of Syracuse by a score of 5-4. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 5-4. As for Granger, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Granger might still be hurting after the 20-0 defeat they got from Cyprus in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Granger avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
