Preview: Kirtland Central vs. Montezuma-Cortez
Montezuma-Cortez are packing up and hiking across state lines for their game on Friday. , they are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Kirtland Central at Cawood Night at 7:00 PM. Neither Montezuma-Cortez nor Kirtland Central could muster much offensive firepower in their last games, so look to the defense to decide this one.
Montezuma-Cortez couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 6-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bloomfield.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 7-42, which was the final score in Kirtland Central's tilt against Minico last Friday.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better score. Kirtland Central's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Montezuma-Cortez defensive front that amassed 8 sacks against Bloomfield last week, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
