It was a good run, but Wellington unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 66-55 to the Chaminade-Madonna Lions. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wolverines came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Lions are ranked 153rd).

Chaminade-Madonna's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaac Mothersill, who posted 23 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Giuliani Blaise, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds.

Wellington's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Chaminade-Madonna, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Wellington will face off against Atlantic at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th. As for Chaminade-Madonna, they will take on Mater Lakes Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Chaminade-Madonna is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65 points per game this season.
