Softball Recap: Dixie Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Dixie took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Snow Canyon, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Dixie Flyers had just enough and edged out the Snow Canyon Warriors 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Flyers have posted since March 16, 2024.

Dixie got a massive performance out of Taylor Wastlund, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Wastlund launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chesney Robbins, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.

Dixie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Dixie's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6. As for Snow Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Dixie will have a chance to go back-to-back against Snow Canyon: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
