Baseball Recap: Coronado Takes Down Cooper in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Coronado walked away with it. They won by a run and slipped past the Cooper Cougars 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on three straight.

Matt Garcia tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

Coronado's win bumped their record up to 22-10. As for Cooper, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-11.

Looking ahead, Coronado will square off against Americas on Thursday. The Trail Blazers will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. Cooper does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
