Football Game Preview: Mena vs. Waldron

Mena will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Waldron at 7:00 PM. Mena will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

Don't be fooled by the insanely high score: we promise Mena and Elkins were playing football. Mena managed a somewhat close 49-45 victory over Elkins. No one put up better numbers for Mena than junior Zane Stephens, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 141 yards on the ground.

Meanwhile, after a disappointing six points in their last match, Waldron made sure to put some points up on the board against Subiaco Academy last Friday. Waldron came out on top against Subiaco Academy by a score of 36-29. The win was a breath of fresh air for Waldron as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Their wins bumped Mena to 4-3 and Waldron to 2-5. After the lofty point totals in their previous games, we'll see if they're able to heat things up even more while facing each other.
