Weir waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the East Liverpool Potters a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Red Riders, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Eliza Utt made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taviyana Cooley, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Lila Boilegh was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Weir's record now sits at 13-5. As for East Liverpool, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Weir has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Steubenville on the 24th. As for East Liverpool, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-1 victory against Bridgeport on the 28th.
