Volleyball Recap: Downey Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Downey lost against Marlborough back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Vikings fell 3-1 to the Mustangs.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-18, 22-25, 25-19.

It was another big night for Tatawan Vongfak, who had 20 digs and six assists for Marlborough. Vongfak is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season.

Downey's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Marlborough, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Downey will welcome Artesia at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Marlborough, they have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Burroughs on the 16th.
