Basketball Recap: Flagler Palm Coast Comes Up Short

Flagler Palm Coast and Creekside squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Flagler Palm Coast had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Creekside Knights, falling 65-36. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Knights are ranked 39th).

Flagler Palm Coast's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jasiah Sanders, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds. Sanders is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Corinthians Watson Jr, who posted four points and five boards.

Creekside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cade Patterson, who went 6 for 10 to rack up 16 points. Nolan Nelson was another key player, putting up four points along with 16 rebounds, six assists, and six blocks.

Flagler Palm Coast's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Creekside, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a massive bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Flagler Palm Coast does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Creekside, they will take on Lake Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lake Mary comes in on three and Creekside on 11.
