Softball Recap: MacArthur Comes Up Short

MacArthur extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 20 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-11 in the process. They came up short against the Glenwood Titans, falling 18-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Generals of the 17-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

MacArthur saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Felicia Meyrick, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for Glenwood, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

On Glenwood's side, Irie Lohrenz looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Sydney Feld was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (four). Another player making a difference was Kileigh Warren, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. MacArthur will face off against Champaign Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Glenwood, they will square off against Pekin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
