Soccer Game Preview: Quincy vs. Columbia Central

The Quincy Orioles will venture away from home to face off against the Columbia Central Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Quincy is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

Quincy's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Springport as they made off with an 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Quincy, who have now won 14 matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Columbia Central and Northwest finished up their game with a 1-1 draw last Friday.

Quincy pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those four contests. Columbia Central's draw gives them a new season record of 10-2-3.

Everything went Quincy's way against Columbia Central when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Quincy made off with a 4-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Orioles since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
