Volleyball Recap: Yerington Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Yerington challenged Portola on Friday. The Lions fell 2-0 to the Tigers. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2021.

While Yerington had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19.

Yerington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Portola, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Yerington has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Silver Stage on the 23rd. As for Portola, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Eureka on the 23rd.
