Pleasant Valley has gone a perfect 10-0 against Red Bluff recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Vikings will host the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. The two teams were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.

Pleasant Valley is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Foothill just ended the team's 12-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-1.

Lily Thurman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base.

Shasta hit Red Bluff with a four-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 8-6. The Spartans have struggled against the Wolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Mattison Kwarta spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

Red Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12-1. As for Pleasant Valley, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 17-6-1.

Pleasant Valley's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. The Vikings have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Red Bluff, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Pleasant Valley continue to outrun the ball?

Pleasant Valley took their victory against Red Bluff in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 9-1 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
