Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Coyotes vs. Mabton Vikings

Columbia has won five straight games at home, while Mabton has won five straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. Both will face off at 5:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

On Friday, Columbia was fully in charge, breezing past Granger 55-16. Given the Coyotes' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Spartans are ranked 345th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mabton). They breezed by River View to the tune of 85-34 on Friday. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Columbia has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Mabton, their victory bumped their record up to 17-1.
