MaxPreps 2015-16 Arkansas preseason high school boys basketball Fab 5, presented by the Army National Guard

1. Bentonville
Head coach: Jason McMahan
2014-15 record: 21-10

Senior guard Malik Monk is the main attraction at Bentonville. The 6-foot-3 senior guard averaged 26.9 points per game in 2014-15 and is a target of programs like Arkansas, Kansas and Kentucky. All Monk's resume lacks is a state title, and the Tigers will be favored to get that done after falling in last season's 7A championship game. Bentonville will head west for the MaxPreps Holiday Classic in December.

2. Southwest Christian Academy (Little Rock)
Head coach: Charles Baker
2014-15 record: 28-7



Southwest is an independent program that played teams from nine different states last season. The Lions will be led by Minnesota Golden Gophers pledge Eric Curry (6-8, Sr., F), who used a big summer to elevate himself to Top 100 status. College prospects Tyrik Dixon (6-1, Sr., G), Marquell Fraser (6-4, Sr., G) and Shawn Williams (6-0, Sr., G) provide firepower in the backcourt.

3. Fayetteville
Head coach: Kyle Adams
2014-15 record: 23-6

The Bulldogs lost a heartbreaker to eventual champ North Little Rock in last year's 7A semifinals. All-state pick and Vanderbilt commit Payton Willis (6-4, Sr., G) is back along with a number of rock-solid role players.

4. Van Buren
Head coach: Randy Loyd
2014-15 record: 24-6



Mitchell Smith (6-10, Sr., F/C) was another big revelation on the national summer circuit playing with the Arkansas Wings. Folks in the Natural State were already well aware of the Missouri commit, as he averaged over 18 points and seven rebounds per game as a junior while leading Van Buren to the 7A semifinals.

5. El Dorado
Head coach: Gary Simmons
2014-15 record: 21-7

The combination of juniors Daniel Gafford (6-10, F/C) and Czar Perry (6-1, G). Gafford is a Top 50 national prospect committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks, while Perry led the team in scoring a year ago at 16.5 points per game.
