Softball Game Preview: Englewood Rams vs. Westside Wolverines

The Englewood Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Westside Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Englewood and six for Westside.

Englewood had taken Riverside down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Rams lost 22-4 to the Generals. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by exactly 18 runs.

Kiandra Carswell made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Tshaielle Fudge also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Westside's offense. They came up short against St. Johns Country Day on Tuesday, falling 25-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Wolverines' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Englewood's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Westside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
