Basketball Game Preview: Minerva Lions vs. Carrollton Warriors

The Minerva Lions will square off against the Carrollton Warriors at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Minerva is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against John F. Kennedy Catholic on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Minerva lost 68-42 to John F. Kennedy Catholic. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Eagles are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, Carrollton's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Saturday. The game between them and West Branch didn't end well, with Carrollton falling 42-28. The matchup marked Carrollton's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Minerva's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Carrollton, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Minerva took a serious blow against Carrollton when the teams last played back in January, falling 51-15. Can Minerva avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
