Basketball Recap: Franklin Road Christian Takes a Loss

The matchup between Franklin Road Christian and Lancaster Christian Academy on Tuesday hardly resembled the 36-23 effort from their previous meeting. The Franklin Road Christian Minutemen fell 65-55 to the Lancaster Christian Academy Knights. The Minutemen haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Franklin Road Christian lost, don't look at Ben Walker. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Alcorn, who posted nine points.

Lancaster Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Josh Whitt out in front who went 9 of 15 on his way to 24 points and six rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Whitt has scored at least a third of Lancaster Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Landon Bragg, who went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points and eight assists.

Franklin Road Christian's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Lancaster Christian Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin Road Christian will host Riverside Christian Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Franklin Road Christian is facing Riverside Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Riverside Christian Academy is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Lancaster Christian Academy, they will challenge Boyd Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Lancaster Christian Academy's favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Boyd Christian has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
