Football Recap: Marcus Vicari and Tyson Pino Pace Butler Defense

Butler lost against Westinghouse back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Golden Tornado came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 40-14. While losing is never fun, the Golden Tornado can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 40th).

Although Butler took the loss, they still got scores from Nicco Baggetta and Deacon Simko.

Butler didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Marcus Vicari and Tyson Pino.

This is the second loss in a row for Butler and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Westinghouse, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Coming up, Butler will look to defend their home field on Friday against Connellsville at 7:00 p.m. The Golden Tornado will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.2 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Westinghouse, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 44-16 victory against Taylor Allderdice on the 25th.
