Baseball Recap: San Simon Victorious

San Simon came out on top against Valley Lutheran on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run seventh inning. The Longhorns took their matchup against the Flames 10-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Longhorns.

Marcos Hernandez was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Esquivias, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

San Simon's record is now 4-16. As for Valley Lutheran, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Simon will host Valley Union at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.71 runs per game on average), something the Longhorns will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Valley Lutheran, they will welcome Bagdad at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Sultans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.14 runs per game on average), something the Flames will no doubt try to take advantage of.
