Basketball Game Preview: Pine Crest Panthers vs. NSU University Sharks

The Pine Crest Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the NSU University Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pine Crest is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Pine Crest will head into Wednesday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 21-point drubbing they dealt Ransom Everglades on Wednesday. Pine Crest blew past Ransom Everglades 67-46. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Isabella Sangha, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 14 rebounds. Her evening made it 18 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Franky Garfi was another key player, going 5 for 10 on her way to 11 points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Pine Crest was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, NSU University beat Saint Andrew's 44-38 on Wednesday.

NSU University's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Pine Crest, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Everything came up roses for Pine Crest against NSU University in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, as the team secured a 45-8 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pine Crest since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
