Football Recap: Wilcox Takes a Loss + How To Watch

The Wilcox Chargers came up short against the Archbishop Mitty Monarchs on Friday and fell 33-20.

Despite the loss, Wilcox still got an impressive performance from Elijah Vallejo, who rushed for 155 yards and three TDs.

Archbishop Mitty's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lazaro Faraj-Washington, who rushed for 153 yards and a pair of scores, and also picked up 48 receiving yards and one touchdown. Joseph Engin was another key player, throwing for 224 yards and three TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes.

Wilcox's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Archbishop Mitty, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Wilcox will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Hollister at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Archbishop Mitty, they are taking a road trip to face off against Menlo-Atherton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
