Baseball Recap: Bishop Kelly Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mountain View, Bishop Kelly was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Borah Lions.

Zach Wright made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colin Brazil, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Jaxson Brady was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Bishop Kelly always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Borah only posted an OBP of .200.

Bishop Kelly's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Borah, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Borah beat Bishop Kelly by a score of 7-4 later that day.
