Baseball Game Preview: Zion-Benton Zee-Bees vs. Vernon Hills Cougars

The Zion-Benton Zee-Bees will head out to square off against the Vernon Hills Cougars at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Zion-Benton has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Zion-Benton's offense. They came up short against Lake Zurich on Tuesday, falling 16-0. The Zee-Bees have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Vernon Hills suffered their closest defeat since April 11th on Thursday. They fell just short of Niles West by a score of 4-2.

Vernon Hills saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was DJ Biede, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Vernon Hills' loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Zion-Benton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

Zion-Benton suffered a grim 15-5 defeat to Vernon Hills in their previous meeting back in March of 2019. Can the Zee-Bees avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
