Basketball Recap: Mclane's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

If McLane was feeling good fresh off their 62-33 takedown of Sanger West last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The McLane Highlanders came up short against the Pitman Pride on Saturday, falling 53-27. The Highlanders were red-hot offensively headed into the matchup (they scored no less than 55 points in the four contests prior) but the Pride's defense proved too tough.

McLane's loss came despite strong showings from Demetrius Simon and Keyvon Burcher. Simon posted six points along with five boards and three steals, while Burcher put up ten points. Simon has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played.

With the loss, McLane broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-6. As for Pitman, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.

McLane wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-43 defeat against Torres on the 10th. Pitman has also already played their next contest, a 59-56 victory against Clovis on the 7th.
