Volleyball Recap: Vic Liao's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Redlands East Valley over Cajon

Redlands East Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Cajon Cowboys, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cowboys this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in March.

Redlands East Valley couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Cajon a tough time in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 33-31, 25-15, 25-21.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vic Liao, who had 14 digs. Liao has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last three times he's played.

Redlands East Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Cajon, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Redlands East Valley will venture away from home to take on Yucaipa at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats are facing the Thunderbirds at the right time seeing as the Thunderbirds are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cajon, they are taking a road trip to face off against Redlands at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Terriers will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Cowboys surely won't give up without a fight.
