Basketball Game Preview: Raton Tigers vs. Pecos Panthers

Raton is 0-7 against Pecos since January of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tigers face off against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Saturday, Raton took a blow against Estancia, falling 51-23. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Pecos came up short against Tucumcari on Saturday and fell 63-54.

Pecos' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 16-6. As for Raton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

Raton was taken down by Pecos 56-8 in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Pecos' Natalia Stout, who went 9 of 12 to rack up 22 points and seven steals.
