Basketball Recap: Living Rock Academy Comes Up Short

Living Rock Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the First Baptist Academy Eagles, falling 63-20. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcat this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-23 back in December of 2024.

First Baptist Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Timothy De La Rosa led the charge by going 10 of 18 en route to 21 points and five steals. Matthew Levine was another key player, going 5 for 12 on his way to 15 points along with six steals and five assists.

Living Rock Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for First Baptist Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season.

Living Rock Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Austin Classical at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for First Baptist Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-48 win against Waterloo on the 14th.
