Mary Star of the Sea's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the St. Genevieve Valiants. The result was nothing new for the Stars, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Joshua Pike looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Mary Star of the Sea is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 3-6-1 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Riley Vuoso, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 4-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Rogelio Ramirez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory got Mary Star of the Sea back to even at 6-6-1. As for St. Genevieve, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Mary Star of the Sea will have a chance to go back-to-back against St. Genevieve: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
