Basketball Game Preview: Shead Tigers vs. Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners

The Shead Tigers will face off against the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Shead is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Narraguagus just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to the Knights 50-44.

Meanwhile, Deer Isle-Stonington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 28th straight loss dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 64-19 to Jonesport-Beals, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Shead now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Deer Isle-Stonington, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.

Everything came up roses for Shead against Deer Isle-Stonington in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as the squad secured a 62-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shead since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
