Baseball Game Preview: Climax-Scotts Panthers vs. Olivet Eagles

The Climax-Scotts Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Olivet Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Climax-Scotts is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Climax-Scotts is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Galesburg-Augusta on Friday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Climax-Scotts got a good showing from Lincoln Dzwik, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Dzwik hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April.

Meanwhile, Olivet came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Saxons as they made off with a 13-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Climax-Scotts' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-4. As for Olivet, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.
