Saugatuck dropped their record down to 3-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Galesburg-Augusta Rams by a score of 12-10. The Trailblazers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 14-0.

Galesburg-Augusta's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

For Galesburg-Augusta's part, Kaylee Bastien spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and nine unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Lilli Thompson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Coleman, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Coming up, Saugatuck will square off against Martin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Galesburg-Augusta, they will take on Homer at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
