Basketball Recap: Beatrice Comes Up Short

Beatrice lost against Waverly back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Beatrice Orangemen took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Waverly Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Orangemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Vikings are ranked 11th).

Parker Christiansen was her usual excellent self, putting up 28 points for Waverly. Mia Jackson was another key player, posting nine points.

Beatrice's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Waverly, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Beatrice will venture away from home to challenge Norris on Tuesday. Waverly does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
