            Softball Recap: Apex Cougars vs. Cary Imps        
        
		
        
        
            Apex waltzed into their match  on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They didn't even let the Cary Imps on the board, marking their second-straight  18-0 shutout. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season,  with their most recent  win being a  18-0  victory  on Tuesday.
 Audrey Mulaski made a big impact no matter where she played. She  pitched 1.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Mulaski was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with three  RBI and one  run. Those  three  RBI gave  her a new career-high.

 In other batting news,  Leah Kendall was  incredible,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with one  home run, three  stolen bases,  and three  runs. She is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last ten games she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Addie Louder, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double.
 Apex  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 13  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cary only managed three  hits.
Apex pushed their record up to 8-6 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 19.7 runs over those games. As for Cary,  they are  on  a  nine-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-12.
 Apex has already played their next game,  a  13-2  win against Panther Creek on the 17th. As for Cary, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  contest,  a  22-7  defeat against Green Level on the 17th.
