Soccer Recap: Lovett Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three games, Lovett finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They fell just short of the Marist War Eagles by a score of 2-1. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Lovett couldn't quite close it out.

The loss snapped Lovett's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-3 record. As for Marist, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lovett will face off against Pace Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Pace Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Lovett surely won't give up without a fight. As for Marist, they will square off against St. Joseph's Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph's Catholic's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Marist's offense will have their work cut out for them.
